Midsummer Sun. Harness the energy

Midsummer Sun. Harness the energy

Posted by Naturobotanica on 28th Sep 2022

“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing

on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that

familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”

– F.Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

Celebrating the Summer solstice is a time-honoured tradition in many cultures around the world. For pagans and witches, it is a time to honour the sun god and goddess, and to celebrate the longest day of the year. It is also a time to reflect on the past year and set intentions for the coming one.

There are many different ways to celebrate the solstice. Some people hold bonfires, others decorate their homes with greenery, and still others perform rituals or meditations. No matter how you choose to celebrate, the most important thing is to connect with nature and harness the powerful energy of the summer sun.

The term solstice is derived from the Latin term ‘solstitium’ containing the meaning ‘sol’, the sun and ‘sistere’, to stand still. Upon reflection and stillness we are ready to move with the energy we have absorbed.

The Cleanse Ritual

It is considered in certain spiritual circles that fasting or cleansing during the Equinox and solstice is more effective than at other times in the planetary calendar.

A cleanse can help with the elimination of toxins and tonify the kidneys, liver, lymphatic system and bowel. When these areas of the body are not functioning at their optimum, poor skin, hair, nails, bad breath and lack of energy can result.

Look at Glutathione; the master antioxidant, the knight in shining armour to your cell’s structure, DNA, proteins, lipids, membranes, and, most importantly, your mitochondria. It is, quite possibly, the secret to lasting health and longevity.

Cleansing involves eating foods that cleanse and detoxify the body while also providing it with the nutrients it needs to function properly. Usually avoiding foods such as sugar, caffeine, alcohol, processed foods, and red meat.

Some great cleansing foods include Lemons and limes, Ginger, Garlic, Greens including cabbage, Beets, Carrots, Apples, Berries, Almonds, Walnuts & Flaxseeds.

New Energy Rituals

Spend time outdoors. Take a nature walk, go for a swim, or simply sit in the sun and soak up its energy. With new energy comes the desire to move. Running or hiking, supporting your joints is important.

Joint support includes Collagen is the principle structural and mechanical support for connective tissue, muscle and skin, and is important in joint and bone health, glucosamine which is the basis for the formation of vital connective tissue substances such as proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), Chondroitin sulphate may support healthy joint matrix formation, MSM, a source of organic sulphur, needed for the formation of healthy connective tissue.

Visiting a festival? Dancing the time away expending that energy, drink fizz! try a sachet of ionic magnesium. MAG365 is made up of only two ingredients: Magnesium Carbonate and Citric Acid. These ingredients, when combined with water, convert into ionic magnesium citrate. The addition of hot water causes the carbonate in the magnesium carbonate to disperse which causes a “fizz”. The magnesium ion is then forced to bind to the citric acid, creating ionic magnesium citrate.

A high-quality magnesium powder is easily absorbed into the system. It is easy to consume, and the dosage is easily adjusted to your specific needs.

Keep your body and mind healthy with magnesium powder: it provides natural calming stress relief and treatment for anxiety and a better chance of getting some sleep under the canvas. Worth noting that you’re likely to lose even more of this essential mineral if you’re doing cardio (aka dancing 15k steps each night) or if you’ve got your period.

The Ritual of bathing

After all the intensity of festivals, dancing, running, even socialising it’s important that we balance that intense activity with idle hours of rest. And relaxation. A soak in the tub with intention can serve as a way to ease the body and mind back into our day-to-day lives.

This is also an excellent time to focus on personal cleansing, both physically and spiritually. Drawing a bath with Epsom or Himalayan salt, and adding a few drops of lavender oil can create an inviting space for you to let go of anything that no longer serves you. As you soak, visualize any negativity leaving your body and mind, replaced by feelings of peace and love.

After you’ve enjoyed your relaxing bath, and take a few moments to reflect on the lessons you’ve learned over the past month. What have you been working on that you’d like to continue? What new habits would you like to create for yourself? How can you incorporate the energy of the solstice into your daily life?

The solstice is a time of change, and by harnessing its power, we can use it to make positive changes in our own lives. Let the solstice be a reminder that we, too, are constantly evolving and growing. We can use this time of year to set new intentions for ourselves and make positive steps towards achieving our goals.

The ritual of Sound and Mind

Binaural Beats are a type of sound wave that can create a meditative state by entraining your brainwaves to match the frequency. There are different types of binaural beats, each with its own specific purpose. For example, there are binaural beats that can help you relax or fall asleep, and there are others that can help improve your focus and concentration.

Theanine is an amino acid that is found in green tea leaves. It has been shown to promote relaxation and improve cognitive function. When combined with binaural beats, theanine can create a very powerful tool for meditation.

The solstice is a time of stillness and reflection, so it’s the perfect time to try out this combination. Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down, and put on some headphones. Make sure you won’t be disturbed for the next 30 minutes or so. Once you’re settled, start the binaural beats and let the sound wash over you.

Allow your mind to wander and don’t focus on any one thing in particular. If your mind starts to wander, simply bring your attention back to the sound of the binaural beats. After a while, you should start to feel more relaxed and your mind will be less active.

This is a great time to reflect on the past month and set intentions for the future. What do you want to achieve in the coming months? What new habits do you want to create? How can you make positive changes in your life?

Take some time to write down your thoughts, or simply sit in silence and enjoy the peace and stillness. When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes and begin your day.

The Ritual of Connecting with Nature
